When Emma Met Julia
It's hard for us to believe, but Julia was born one year ago this week.
We spent two nights in the hospital for Julia's birth. During that time, Emma stayed with our friends, Ed and Kat Alexander, who live a few blocks from us and have three daughters of their own. This was before vaccinations, as the numbers were starting to creep back up, and it was no small act for them take Emma into their home.
The delivery went well and we were discharged on day 3. We drove home from the hospital, got Rachel and Julia into bed, and then I walked down the street to retrieve Emma.
Twenty minutes later, Emma met Julia.
(And so did Kaira.)
