This month I’ve been traveling and giving a talk called Devs and Depression. The first stop on the tour was MountainWest RubyConf in Salt Lake City.
The response has been humbling. I knew this was a problem, I knew it would touch a nerve, but I didn’t expect it would be like this. The video has been watched over a thousand times since it came out earlier this week, and people reach out daily to share their own stories.
In response, Table XI and I launched DevPressed, a forum for the tech community to share stories and find support from their peers. I announced it with a single tweet, and 1,300 people showed up in the first three days.
There’s a lot of people hurting out there.
